The Chicago Sickle Cell Summit brings together health system leaders, providers, patients, caregivers, and community-based organizations to share the latest advances in sickle cell science and to strengthen care across Chicagoland. This year's theme puts clinical trials front and center: what they are, how they are regulated and kept safe, why community support matters for recruitment, and which trials are open right now to people living with sickle cell disease in Illinois.
Keynote speaker Mark T. Gladwin, MD (Dean, Professor, and Vice President for Medical Affairs, University of Maryland) is joined by featured speakers from the University of Illinois Chicago and Northwestern University, including SCKIN's medical director, Lewis Hsu, MD.
The summit is open to physicians, residents, nurses, pharmacists, social workers, patients, and caregivers. The University of Illinois College of Medicine at Chicago designates this live activity for a maximum of 3.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™.
The summit is hosted and organized by a volunteer Community Advisory Board, patient advisors, and community-based organizations.
